Did you know that smartphones are an indispensible part of the daily lives of every American? The entire world’s mobile phone population is made up of about half of smartphones. Almost every individual owns at least one smartphone the Americans make the most out of this population. More than 44% of the American population uses a smartphone and is currently increasing. According to surveys conducted by american consumer report late last 2012, 80% of smartphone users don’t leave home without their device. Of the entire American-smartphone using population, 97% of them use their smartphones at home, 83% while on the go, and 78% while in brick and mortar stores. Of the entire percentage of internet-using smartphone owner, 50% of them use their smartphone to look up restaurants/ bars while 31% use their device to research or book travel.

Because 88% of smartphone users use their smartphones for the primary purpose of getting entertained, more and more Americans are demanding more smartphone products in the market. Although, android phones still remains to be the most wanted tech gifts, apple’s ios-run iphone is not far behind, leading with the most revenues out of their products. It is true that the iphone vs android dilemma will never come to an end, but no matter who wins the fight, the bottom line is that development of smartphones keep on continuing and consumer demands keep on rising. In the end, this will just be all about business.
